Setting up the Image Bank

To help you organize the images and the image folders that you want to use in your Web site project, NetObjects Fusion includes an optional Image Bank panel. The Image Bank panel offers you the possibility of reaching the most used images, displaying a list of thumbnails fed by a source folder that you have previously set. The designer will be able to locate the image without leaving Page Design, select the image and then drag it from the Image Bank and drop it on the page. All you need to do is to set up the folders that contain the images that you want to include in your Web site pages.

About the Image Bank Panel

The Image Bank panel can be docked, auto-hidden, resized or grouped with other panels. See Working with Panels.

By default, the Folders drop-down list displays the Image Assets folder.

You can set the location for as many folders as you like. All the folders you set will be easily accessible from the Folders drop-down list.

Setting up a New Folder's Location

To set up a new folder's location for the Image Bank:

  1. Select the Manage Galleries option from the Image Bank drop-down list.

The Images Galleries dialog appears.

  1. Click the Add Folder button.

The Browse for Folder dialog appears.

  1. Select the folder you want to access in the Image Bank panel.
  2. Click the OK button.

The Images Galleries dialog displays the name of the folder that you have set and the folder's local path.

  1. Click the Close button or repeat steps 2 through 4 to add more folders to the Images Galleries.

The Image Bank Panel displays the images from the selected folder.

  1. Click the Refresh button to refresh the content of the selected folder.
  2. To display images from another folder, click the drop-down button and select a new folder from the drop-down list.

A list with all the thumbnails of the images of the selected folder will be automatically displayed in the Preview area of the Image Bank panel.

Warning: If you change the location of any folder that you have already set up to access from the Image Bank, you cannot preview nor access the images unless you redefine the new location of that folder.

Deleting a Folder's Location from the Image Bank

To delete a folder from the Folders drop-down list:

  1. Display the Image Bank Panel.
  2. From the Folders drop-down list, select the Manage Galleries option. The Images Galleries dialog appears.
  3. Highlight the folder you wish to delete.
  4. Click the Remove button.

Note: The Image Assets folder cannot be deleted.

Changing the Folder's Location

If you create an Image Bank by setting up the location for a folder, and you then change its location, although the folder will be displayed in the Folders drop-down list, you cannot preview or access the images.

When moving a folder to another location and its location is set up in the Image Bank panel, you need to:

  1. In Page View, select the Image Bank panel.
  2. From the Folders drop-down list, select the Manage Galleries option.

The Images Galleries dialog appears.

  1. Highlight the folder you wish to change the location for.
  2. Click the Customize button.

The Browse for Folder dialog appears.

  1. Select the folder's new location.
  2. Click the OK button.
